The best thing about Kwinana is the leafy trees and natural parks. The other suburbs have all been overtaken by road extensions and you wont see much nature in those suburbs anymore. Kwinana on the other hand still has kookaburras and black cockatoos flying around. That tells you alot about the natural environment in Kwinana

I live in Kwinana and my house hasnt been broken into for 28 years. Try Gosnells or Maddington for example if you want your car stolen. Or you can choose the "affluent" suburbs like Claremont if you enjoy living with Serial killers

This definately comes across as an achievable concept. Well done Kwinana, Fremantle & Melville! I currently live in Cockburn and the scare tactics are just ridiculous - bring on the change I say!

The concept is imaginative and has merit. Pity that Kwinana, Melville and Fremantle 7 the State Government were not up front and advised Cockburn of the concept. What a waste of energy and resources! It just shows that we need to seriously look at the Elected Members as they only wanted to operate in secret and ambush Cockburn. If they had of shared this information we could have channelled resources and made informed decisions. Still not convinced on the financials yet and I am sceptical that Kwinana has the talent to go forth. Fremantle is still a concern as they have stagnated development wise. They stated they were sustainable prior to this, so why do they need more population other than to prop up the Fremantle proper? I look forward to more information. One important question; how do you save the ethos, the vision that Cockburn staff and administration have developed that leave the other Local Governments in their wake? Regards Steve Portelli

Not wrong on that count. New CEO is earning from 280K - 302K. Checkout the 2012/2013 financial year report on their site,see that this council was pay about 26 million by the rate payers and what this council spent this money on, and they still took loans out! We pay huge rip off rates in Kwinana. They are far too high for a lower socio economic area. There are too many public servants on high salaries and benefits.
